BETSOL Signs New Black Site Data Management Deals in First Week of September

BETSOL has signed deals to manage data backup and archival for government and defense organizations in the first week of September. These deals cover:

  • State Office of Information Technology Services
  • Warface Research Center

These organizations operate “black site” data centers that function entirely independently with no connection to the Internet. BETSOL’s Zmanda product line meets such specialized security requirements, thanks to the following features:

  1. Air Gap: Zmanda was designed from the ground up to run completely offline with air gap capabilities. This technical differentiation helps our customers across government, defense, research institutions, IT, and other verticals, mitigate the threat of ransomware attacks. Zmanda Management Console allows for “black site” operations and tight control of administrative capabilities.
  2. Tape-Archival: Zmanda’s core competency is in robust tape backup and archival, allowing for local administration, cost-effective storage, and simple execution of 3-2-1 backup strategies.
  3. Open Source Background: Zmanda is built upon Amanda Enterprise (Advanced Maryland Automatic Network Disk Archiver), an open-source solution. This gives security-focused customers the ability to inspect source code and utilize open storage formats.
